Application of HANWHA TOTALENERGIES Flame Retardant PP in Solenoid Valve

In 2007, the customer's new project was launched. The customer contacted Prime union Trading by looking for Hanwha TotalEnergies's flame retardant PP. The customer has strict requirements on material performance. The customer asked Hanwha TotalEnergies whether it has modified flame-retardant PP that meets the following requirements:

1. Under the voltage of 380 degrees, the on and off cycle test is conducted for 30 days without cracking, so the material must be resistant to high temperatures and have high rigidity.

2. The flame retardant grade must reach 0.75mm V0 and have a UL report.

3. Comply with various European testing standards: RoHS REACH is the most basic, and end customers have separate European testing indicators.

The above 2/3 two items are easy to achieve, but the experimental testing conditions of the first item are harsh and require samples. We send the existing relevant grades in stock to the customer's factory for testing the next day. After 1 month the result showed that the test was not passed. We immediately contacted the technical staff of Hanwha TotalEnergies's Korean headquarters and discussed two options. One is lower cost, but the performance of modified PP is at the lower limit of the detection range. The other is better performance, but the cost is lower. It is also a relatively high-end product. After more than 2 months of repeated sample debugging processes, the latter finally passed the test, while the former's test results were relatively reluctant. In the end, its end customer Samsung Electronics chose Hanwha TotalEnergies's  halogen-free flame-retardant PP FB55G. Customers start to place orders and test materials in small batches.
