PA66 plus glass fiber material for new energy vehicle sensors

Time:2024-01-03     Views:387     Source:PRIME UNION PLASTIC

PA66+30%GF is a glass fiber reinforced polyamide (nylon) material with high strength and rigidity. In this case, it also has flame retardant properties and is suitable for some applications that require flame retardant properties, such as new energy vehicle sensor plugs.

PA66 GF

PA66 is an engineering plastic with good mechanical properties, heat resistance and chemical stability. By adding 30% glass fiber (GF), the strength and rigidity of the material can be improved, making it more suitable to withstand some demanding application environments.

For new energy vehicle sensor plugs, the reasons why this material may be selected include:

1.Strength and Rigidity: Glass fiber reinforced PA66 has high strength and rigidity and is able to withstand vibration and mechanical stress in the automotive environment.

2.Heat resistance: PA66 itself has good heat resistance and is suitable for use in high-temperature environments such as automobile engine rooms.

3.Flame retardant: Flame retardant properties are key, especially in automotive applications, to ensure that the material does not contribute to a fire in the event of a fire.

4.Chemical Stability: For automotive applications, materials need to be chemically stable to prevent adverse reactions with fluids and chemicals in the vehicle.

The use of this material helps ensure that the sensor plug operates stably and reliably in harsh automotive environments. It should be noted that the specific material selection will also be affected by factors such as manufacturing cost and processability.

PA66 plus glass fiber materials may have some undesirable performances during use. These problems may be affected by various factors such as the characteristics of the material itself, the processing process, and the use environment. Here are some possible bad behaviors:

1.Bubbles and pores: During the manufacturing process, if the processing temperature and pressure of the material, as well as the mold design, are not properly handled, it may cause bubbles and pores to appear in the material, affecting the density and strength of the part.

2.Warpage and deformation: PA66+ fiberglass materials may be affected by thermal stress during processing, causing parts to warp or deform. This may be caused by improper cooling or mold design issues.

3.Poor surface quality: During the injection molding process, surface defects may appear, such as short fibers, flow marks, bubble marks, etc., which affect the appearance and texture of the part.

4.Uneven Strength: The distribution and orientation of glass fibers can cause the material to have uneven strength, which can cause the part to perform less than expected in certain directions.

5.Moisture sensitivity: PA66 is sensitive to humidity, and moisture absorption may cause the performance of the material to decrease, especially in high-humidity environments.

6.Decreased flame retardant performance: If the flame retardant is unevenly distributed or affected by external factors, the flame retardant performance may decrease, reducing the safety of the material.

7.Decomposition and aging: After long-term use or in high-temperature environments, PA66+ glass fiber materials may decompose and age, leading to performance degradation, such as strength reduction, embrittlement, etc.

8.Difficulty in processing: Due to the addition of glass fiber, PA66+ glass fiber material may have higher hardness and viscosity, which may cause processing difficulties and increase manufacturing costs.
